Two Commissioners in Anambra State recently swapped positions in what may be described as a minor cabinet reshuffle.


They are Sir Uchenna Okafor formerly of Transport Ministry who is now in-charge of Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Industry and Wealth Creation, and Dr Christian Madubuko formerly of Trade, Commerce Industry and Wealth Creation now in-charge of Ministry of Transport.


A sent forth party was organized by the staff of Ministry of Transport for their Commissioner who will now assume duty as the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Industry and Wealth Creation in Anambra State.

Speaking at the event, the outgoing Commissioner for Transport and now the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Sir Uchenna Okafor who appreciated the organizers of the event urged the agencies under the Ministry and other relevant stakeholders to cooperate with the new Commissioner to sustain the tempo of progress made in the transport sector.


He further commended the incoming Commissioner for Transport for his great impact in the area of Trade and Commerce assuring him of more improvement through collaboration.


On his part, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce who is now the new Commissioner for Transport, Dr Christian Madubuko assured of consolidating on the achievements of his predecessor.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Dr Dan Ezeanwu and the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry Mr Stanley Onunkwor who described the outgoing Commissioner for Transport as a man of honor and integrity, urged him not to relent in his service to the State and humanity assuring of their support to the incoming Commissioner, Dr Christian Madubuko.


Others who spoke during the event were the Chairman Anambra State Park Management Union, Chief Albert Ibekwe, the State Chairman Urban Drivers Welfare Association, Comrade Nnamdi Okafor, State Chairman of Tricycle Union, Mr Sylvester Obiorah and Chief Afamefuna Okeke of the motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria commended Sir Uchenna Okafor for restoring peace among various unions in the Transport sector.


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Transport and the General Supervisor Vehicle Inspection Office, Ministry of Transport, Mr Raph Okoye, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State Mr Andrew Kumapayi represented by the Sector Head of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Egwuokike Ike, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Traffic Management Agency, Mr Pat Obiefuna and the General Cordinator, Anambra State students Directorate of Transport, Comrade Udoka Edwin also attended the ceremony.
