The draft of the Anambra State Anti-corruption Strategy, ANSACS has been presented to Anambra State Government.


The strategy seeks to eradicate corrupt practices in State and Local Government institutions by strengthening the rule of law, transparency and accountability.


The Presentation was made yesterday during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House, Awka. The State Ministry of Justice is to serve as secretariat for implementation of the strategy while the Ministry of Economic Planning will be for monitoring and evaluation.


Presenting the document, an Anti-corruption Manager with the RoLAC program of the European Union, Mr Emmanuel Uche urged the State government to adopt it as a working document for the State and collaborate with all State actors to ensure its full implementation.


Receiving the document, Governor Willie Obiano promised that a steering committee will be immediately set up to work out modalities for its implementation.
