A fifteen man committee to monitor and over see the functions of all government projects in the three senatorial district have been inaugurated by the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne.



The Committee selected from the three Senatorial districts is to maintain, sustain and ensure steady work on all government facilities situated in the communities.


Addressing the committee members in his office, the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Ezenwanne said that his ministry dimmed set up the committee to secure the street lights, water and fire projects as they are very impactful in providing basic amenities to Ndi Anambra.


He maintained that many communities have benefited from the government infrastructural development while more are to come to those who have not received at the first phase, stating that they have sensitized community heads and traditional rulers on taking ownership of this projects so as to serve them for a long time.


Engineer Ezenwanne told the committee that they were inaugurated to stop vandalization and other forms of destruction of government properties adding that they will liase with the community Heads and also see that the vendors in charge of lightening live up to expectations.


While commending Engineer Ezenwanne for the inauguration, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Dozie Akunne lamented the lack of maintenance culture among some people, stating that they will brainstorm on what to do to ensure that all the infrastructural development will be sustained.


The committee later took an oath, administered by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Reverend Polycap Amanzechukwu.
