The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has reaffirmed its resolve to reposition the party from being the third largest party in the country to the first among equals.


This was revealed by the national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Oye on the occasion of the first Anambra State APGA retreat for the state executives, State and National Assembly members held at Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area.


Chief Oye underscored government’s genuine commitment and equitable distribution of democracy dividends, to Ndi Anambra which the APGA government has been known for over the years.


He stressed the need for all hands to be on deck for the set out objectives to be achieved.


Earlier in his address, the state chairman of the party, Sir Nobert Obi, who commended the Governor for his immense contributions towards the growth of the party, noted that the party through his outstanding governance has gained unflinching support of Ndi Anambra and beyond.


Sir Nobert underscored the monumental achievements of the party in Anambra State with a view to mapping out effective strategies for the sustenance to power while strengthening their legacy.


In a remark, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Uchenna Okafor, who viewed the retreat as timely, commended the conveners and urged the participants to ensure implementation of what they garnered at the grassroots.


On their parts, the member representing Orumba South in the State House of Assembly, Honorable Emmanuel Nwafor and the state party Youth Leader, Comrade Magnus Eziokwu assured of consolidating on the achievements of the party but said that task remains a collective responsibility.


Series of lectures were delivered by experts on the best practices a political party should adopt to become an institution and serve the purpose of which it was established.
