The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA), Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu says, the state is ready to carry out its Supplementary Immunisation Activities . Dr. Ezenyimulu who stated this during State Social Mobilisation Committee (SSMC) meeting at ASPHCDA Office, Awka, said the vaccines lined up for the activities are Yellow Fever, Meningitis and Measles second dose campaign.


She noted that SIA called for concerted effort from the SSMC as there was Yellow Fever outbreak in neighbouring Kogi State recently.
She urged the people in charge of information dissemination, especially in Churches to ensure proper dissemination of the information.


State Health Educator, Mrs Uju Onwuegbuzina said the meeting was to enable SSMC to suggest suitable strategies to be used in making the upcoming SIA effective and successful.


She stated that the SSMC will bring out strategies that will be effective so as to avoid non-compliance or rejections during the Supplementary Immunisation Activities.


UNICEF Communication for Development Consultant, Mr Felix Okocha said, they had done the mapping of stakeholders in which professional bodies and all sectors were well represented.
