The Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim has challenged Christians to be witnesses for Christ and never be ashamed of proclaiming him.
Right Reverend Ibezim stated this at the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka, during Confirmation and admission into Women’s guild and Father’s fellowship for church of the Holy Spirit Parish and Church of the Pentecost Parish Awka.
Bishop Ibezim who is the incoming Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger said that through confirmation, the candidates are called to do the work of God who will energise them through the Holy Spirit and give them power, strength and ability to live a fulfilled life.
Right Reverend Ibezim stated that it is not enough to have children but to present them to God during confirmation for them to be equipped with good virtues.
The Prelate encouraged those who were admitted into Women’s Guild and Father’s Fellowship respectively, to live according to the dictates of God because they will render spiritual accounts on the last day.
The Vicar of the Church, Venerable Rex Kalu said that the visit has enriched them with the holy spirit and the church will continue to match, encouraging the newly confirmed to live by faith.
While thanking God for his grace of a new life in him, one of the newly confirmed candidates Master Chukwuemeka Felix-Uzor, said that the light which was ignited in their life during baptism has been rekindled, promising to live by faith and do the work of Christ throughout his life.
Prayers were offered for grace of God upon the candidates to be increased daily by the power of the holy spirit.
