Governor Willie Obiano has been presented with Business Day Award on agriculture.


The award which has been on since 2013, was presented to the governor by Business Day NewsPapers, during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Awka.


Government House correspondent Ejike Abana reports that while Presenting the award, an Editor in the firm Mr. John Osajie said it was in recognition of his efforts at ensuring food sufficiency in Anambra and Nigerian by extension.


Mr. Osajie said Governor Obiano was nominated out of six other Governors, where he emerged the best Governor on agriculture, having transformed the State through agriculture.
Receiving the award, Governor Obiano said it will spur him to do greater works, and dedicated it to the former Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Afam Mbanefo.


Also at the EXCO, Governor Willie Obiano sworn – in Mr. Emeka Ozumba as the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra State.
Mr. Ozumba is to assist Mr. James Eze, the Chief Press Secretary.
Performing the function, Governor Obiano said that the elevation was due to Mr Ozumba’s hard work and commitment and charged him to work hard to deliver on his new assignment in line with his new oath.
Before his elevation, Mr Ozumba was the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Obiano.


Mr. Emeka Ozumba from Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka council area has over twenty-five years’ experience in marketing communications with penchant for Public Affairs, political and crisis communications as well as expertise in Strategic Communications, advocacy and stakeholder relations.
Prior to being a political office holder, he was the Managing Consultant at Ozion Limited, a Government Public Affairs and Media Advisory Consultancy based in Abuja.


He is a 1987 Mass Communications graduate of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, after which he obtained Post Graduate Degrees from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos and Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, respectively.
