Anambra State Internal Revenue Service says it will commence the enforcement for non-remittance of Pay as You Earn deductions across the State on the first of next Month.
According to the Agency, every employer of labour in the State is expected to deduct and remit all Pay as You Earn arrears before the stated date.
A release signed by the Deputy Director and Head Tax Payer Education and Enlightenment team of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Mrs. Sylvia Ngige advised all employers of labour in Anambra State, to always visit the State Internal Revenue Service monthly with evidence of Pay As You Earn remittance and a schedule as well as list of their employees showing their salaries and tax paid.
The statement maintained that employers of labour in the State should note that ANSSID registration is compulsory for both their Company and employees.
It stated that in line with the provisions of personal income tax act 2011and Pay As You Earn scheme regulations of 2002 any employer that fails to comply with any of the above commits an offence which attracts penalties adding that Anambra State government will not hesitate to use the full force of the law to recover any debt owed to the State.
