The News and Current Affairs Department of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS has formally commiserated with one of their own, Miss Blessing Uchendu, who lost her properties to an inferno recently.


The fire disaster, which its cause is yet unknown, had engulfed the family house at Umuokpu Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, razing all her properties and documents, as well as those of her neighbours.


Miss Uchendu, a recent graduate of Mass Communication from the National Open University of Nigeria, lost all the original copies of her academic qualifications, International Passport and other documents in the inferno that occurred on September 2, 2019.


Speaking before making the presentation, the Director of News and Current Affairs Department, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze said, the token was not meant to meet the challenges she may encounter as a result of the disaster, but to help her cushion its effects.


Mr. Okpalaeze who acknowledged Miss Uchendu for her dedication to duty even despite the recent challenge, also asked for more financial and moral support from government, groups and individuals who love the ABS News, to help her .


On her part, another staff of the department, Mrs. Njideka Okoye consoled Miss Uchendu and asked her to always trust in God even at this time of difficulty.


Miss Uchendu, in her appreciation, thanked the department for the support and love shown to her in her trying times.
