A representative of the United Nations International Children’s Education Fund and World Health Organization in Anambra State, Mr.
Felix Okocha, has pledged to improve the healthcare of Ndi Anambra during this year’s immunization programme.


Mr. Okocha made the pledge during “train the trainer’’ exercise at Neni Anaocha Council Headquarters.


According to Mr. Okocha, the purpose of the training was to educate, inform and sensitize the people about the Agency’s upcoming immunization exercise, slated for the end of the year.


He noted that international agencies will not relent in supporting the State Health Sector in improving the living standards of Ndi Anambra.
He said that there will be health campaigns in the zones, for measles, meningitis and yellow fever that had been planned to take place in October, November and December.


The representative solicited personal commitment and detailed information for the grassroots to create awareness to help in giving the people of the area the dividends of good health.


He urged parents and caregivers not to obstruct the exercise by refusing the vaccines to be administered to their children and wards.
The Transition Chairman for Anaocha Local Government Area, Mr. Patrick Onyedum urged stakeholders not to fail in their assignment, pledging readiness to always partner the Health Sector.


Those in attendance were head teachers, religious leaders, health workers, caregivers and delegates from the ten communities that make up Anaocha Local Government Area.
