The Chairman, Anambra state Internal Revenue Service, Mr. David Nzekwu
says the one hundred and thirty-seven billion, one hundred and
thirty-five million, seven hundred and forty-three thousand, four
hundred and thirty-nine naira budget for 2020 fiscal year is
realizable with the co-operation of Ndi Anambra in tax payment.

Mr. Nzekwu stated this while speaking to the ABS shortly after the
2020 budget presentation by Governor Willie Obiano at the state House
of Assembly complex, Awka.

Mr. Nzekwu said the agency has already initiated measures on how to
get more people in the state involved in tax payment, so as to enable
the realization of the 2020 budget for a better Anambra state.

He encouraged all the state residents to adhere to tax payment laws in
order to make the actualization of the present administration’s vision
easier.

On his part, a onetime Chairman for Orumba South local Government
Area, Barrister Bennet Ibekwe who rated the Obiano government high in
actualization of its yearly budget since inception, advocated for
collaboration between the Executive and Legislative arms of government
of the state to ensure hundred percent realization of the next year’s
budget, as according to him, people of the state expect more
improvement in governance.

Barrister Ibekwe observed that the 2020 budget is people oriented and
should be supported by all through prompt payment of taxes and levies.
