In order to further deepen governance to ensure all round development, Governor Willie Obiano has adopted three new top aides into his cabinet.
The function was performed at the Government House, Awka.


While Chief Uzuegbunam Okagbue was sworn in as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol to the Governor, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie was sworn in as Special adviser to the Governor on disability matters and Dr Simeon Onyemaechi of Anambra Health Insurance scheme was also sworn in as Special Adviser to the Governor on Health matters.


Governor Obiano, who expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on their new position, stressed that the elevation was purely on merit, believing that they will serve the State better with the position.
Speaking Chief Okagbue noted that he had been operating the offices before now which he said has been a challenging task and promised to continue delivering on the job, as according to him, the reward for hardwork is more work.


Also speaking, Dr Onyemaechi said that the promotion came as a little surprise to him, pointing out that the present government, through the insurance scheme have received a lot of commendations, stressing that Governor Obiano’s government has continued on the path of delivering good governance and quality health care.
He added that by the promotion, they have been given an opportunity to keep legacies that will endure, and expressed optimism to enroll about three hundred thousand people on the scheme by next year, with focus on quality, community liason, among other things.

On his part, Barrister Ezewuzie applauded the Governor for giving people like him the opportunity to serve Ndi Anambra, promising not to relent.
