Members of the State House of Assembly have been urged to accelerate
passage of the 2020 Appropriation Bill, to achieve the goals set by
Governor Willie Obiano.


Paul Ezeoke reports that while  speaking to journalists in Awka, the Special Adviser to the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Titus Anigbogu, said early presentation of the bill to the Legislature was a clear demostration of the Governor’s commitment to consolidate on the achievements already recorded.

Chief Anigbogu who was the former Vice Chairman of APGA, Anambra South
noted that the budget was well articulated to drive the Governors
pillars of development and their enablers as well as widen score of
socio- economic opportunities across the state as it touched all
aspects of development to meet the needs of the people.

He observed that the faithful implementation of previous budgets has
impacted positively on the life of the people through scale up
infrastructural development including installation of street lights
and other community projects that opened up the rural areas and
sustaining effective security architecture which makes the state the
most secured in the country.

Chief Anigbogu added that the twenty million naira community Choose
Your Project Initiative has become a model other states are trying to
emulate and urged communities to take full ownership of public
facilities in their areas and protect them from abuse.

Also speaking, a youth leader, Prince Kingsely Okagbue, expressed
optimism that the provision of the 2020 budget would increase
interventions on empowerment programmes for youths to further reduce
challenges of unemployment
