It was a soul winning service and repentance as thirty eight inmates of Nigeria Correctional Center, Awka, received sacrament of confirmation by the Archbishop, Eccliastical Province of the Niger, Most Revered Alexander Ibezim.


The service which was held at the Chapel of Compassion, Nigeria Correctional Service, Awka was witnessed by  the clergy, officers of the Correctional Service and hosts of others who  attended  the service. 
The Archbishop, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim said  that the service was  a moment of seeking face of  God upon the inmates  to attract  holy spirit to empower them to be  witness  and preach  the  words of God. 
Most Reverend Ibezim who is also the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, called on the government to ensure proper  reformation of  the correctional center so that  when the inmate regain freedom, they will be transformed to face the society. 


Most Reverend Ibezim encouraged the inmates not to loose hope as their situation is a moment of remolding, reform and character uplifting, stating that the church will continue to pray and do everything within  its  reach for the welfare  of the inmates. 


The Deputy Comptroller Of The Correctional Center, Awka, Mr. Edwin Akabueze thanked God for the pastoral visit saying that they are blessed having Most Reverend Ibezim whose first assignment as the Archbishop took place  in their church  to celebrate the independence with the inmates.
He said that many of them have been transformed and will strive hard to  uphold the desired spiritual life.  


While appreciating the goodness of God in their ministry in the Correctional Service, the Chaplain, Reverend Chris Ezeokolo  noted that  the service  is one of the important sacraments  in the church, pray for the continual manifestation of God in their lives. 


Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that the Archbishop who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, the Diocesan Media officer, Barrister Felix Uzor and hosts of others donated food items, money, clothing and some other materials to the inmates.Â
