The Obiano administration has continued to make rural community development a top priority.
It has been demonstrating this in many ways, for the past five years of which the establishment of the Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, ANCSDA was established.
The agency since its establishment has launched its Micro projects in thirty communities across the state.Â
Valentine Mbadugha, our correspondent, who witnessed the recent project launch at Agbudu and Eziagu communities in Orumba South Local Government Area reports that for Agbudu Community, the Micro projects which is meant for the Udoamaka Vulnerable Group include the construction of a thirty-two open stores and a modern skill acquisition center, while that of Eziagu is the construction of two classroom blocks and a VIP toilet.Â
Speaking while presenting a cheque to the Chairperson of the Community Project Management Committee of the Udoamaka Vulnerable Group and that of Eziagu community before members of the group and other community members, the General Manager, Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr. Chudi Mojekwu represented by the Operation Manager, Mrs. Uche Nwaizugbo who promised adequate funding, enjoined them to ensure full implementation of the project.  Responding, the Chairperson Udoamaka Vulnerable Group, Agbudu, Mrs. Justina Okeke and that of Eziagu, Mr. Ejike Umenwa assured of making judicious use of the fund as the project was meant for their benefit.Â
Earlier, while welcoming the team from the Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, the President General of Agbudu Community, Mr. Charles Nwangwu represented by a former President-General of the town, Mr. Lawrence Nwangwu and the Traditional ruler of Eziagu Community, Igwe Bernard Emejuo, while commending the State government for including them as one of the beneficiaries of the programme assured of giving every necessary assistance to ensure that the projects are completed.
The Community and Social Development Project which is community driven and targets rural development is a World Bank assisted project where the state government provides counterpart funding to make it a reality.
