The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor
says the Church conducts infant Baptism as a way of catching people
young and beginning early to introduce the child to the way of the
lord.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor stated this during an infant Baptism of the
children of his Chief Press Secretary Mr Abuchi Onwumelu and his Chief
driver Mr Matthew Akam.
Chibuzor Obidike reports that the event which took place at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Archbishop Albert Obiefuna Retreat Centre, Okpuno in Awka South Local Government Area, witnessed heavy presence of journalists in the State, including the Director of News and Current Affairs Department of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, Editor in Chief of a Faith based print Media, Mr Jude Atupulazi, Managing Director of Anambra Synergy and Advertising Agency, Chief Jude Emecheta, among

the original sin and prepares the baptized for an early journey to
eternity.
Bishop Ezeokafor emphasized that Baptism is one Sacrament of
initiation through which one becomes a member of the Church and noted
that it is a huge responsibility for both parents in ensuring that
they guide the Child to God stressing that good-parenting is not just a
portfolio.

Sacrament of Baptism for their twin babies pledging to of give
them the necessary upbringing as well as leading them to Christ.
