The preservation of the ideals of the Legandary  Highlife Icon, Chief
Stephen Osita Osadebe, will soon be reliazable as a group of young men
led by Afam Kings-Dozie has unveiled the brand “Osadebe Fest” in Awka.

The Festival is expected to become another boost in the creative
economy of Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

David Okpokwasili was at the brand unveiling and  reports:m that  the Igbo saying that  “Onye amuma adighi adi ire n’ala nna ya” which when translated loosely means that a prophet is not usually honoured among his Kingsmen will no longer be the tale of the late highlife king, Chief Stephen Osadebe.

Chief Osadebe who joined his ancestors in 2007 took his contemporaries and Africa by storm during his days of reign in the Highlife world and more than twelve years after his death, though his songs still remain evergreen, it seems his impacts are being lost on the younger
generation.

This must have been What inspired these group of young men led by Mr Kings-Dozie, ace comedian and OAP, Steve “Yaw” Onu and a business development manager who is also serving as the project manager of the programme, Mr Hilary Oranu to birth this Festival.

According to them, this project will comprise of many activities that are aimed at preserving and marketing the values represented and sang
by the music maestro during his life time.

Some of these events include art exhibitions, schools’ debates, symposia and seminars, football Competition, medical Camp, Youth Empowerment, road shows, concerts and a museum in honour of the Legend.

Speaking on behalf of the Anambra State Government, the Senior Special
Assistant to the Governor on Communications, Mr. Ikenna Aniagboso,
confirmed that the State Government will give its total support to the project.

Sharing her happiness over the initiative, the wife of the late Chief Osadebe, Mrs. Amaechi Osadebe, said this initiative is well received by the Osadebe family and expressed the confidence that the festival
will go a long way in furthering the values Chief Osadebe is known for.

The brand unveiling ceremony was attended by the Kingsmen of the Late
Chief Osadebe from Atani in Ogbaru local government area and some of his children.
