The Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Dennis Isiuzo, has
encouraged Christians to always understand the meaning of pastoral
visit and work towards achieving the purpose.
Bishop Isiuzo stated this in a homily during a pastoral visit to Regina Caeli Catholic Church Umuoji, Idemili North local government area.
Bishop Isiuzo said it is very important for parishioners to ensure that their parish priest maintain proper account as well as work towards building the faith of the parishioners which according to him,
are among the purpose of the visit and not only confirmation.
Addressing the over eighty confirmed candidates, the bishop urged them
to renew their relationship with God through the Holy Spirit they have
received.
The Bishop further advised them to always serve God with the special gift in them that can make the nation and the entire world a better place.
Speaking shortly after the mass, the parish, Reverend Father Cosmas
Maduekwe, thanked the bishop and his parishioners for contributing towards the development of the church.
Some newly confirmed candidates and some parishioners interviewed,
expressed happiness over the visit.
Administering of oil, lighting of candle, thanksgiving, presentation of gifts to the bishop, cultural dance and cutting of cake featured in the event.
