The first ever International Trado fair will take place in Anambra State in February next year.
The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal practice Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Awka, said that the event will take place at the Corporate headquarters of the Anambra Broadcasting Service near Aroma junction in Awka.
According to Dr Ibezim, plans are in top gear to ensure a successful trado fair which he said will attract traditional herbal practitioners both within and outside the country.
He said that the State government is committed to making traditional herbal practitioners to continue to operate in line with international best practices in addition to standardizing their products.
Dr Ibezim who disclosed that sale of form for advanced diploma course in indigenous medicine and herbal practice will soon commence at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam, for those who want to advance further into indigenous medicine and herbal practice, while training on herbal practice for upgrade into various categories will commence at the three Senatorial Districts across the State.
According to him Onitsha will serve as a centre for those in Anambra North Senatorial District while Ekwulobia is for Anambra South and Awka for Anambra Central.
Dr Ibezim, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Oxygen plant, equally said that all the programmes on indigenous and herbal practice across the State have been approved by the State government.
