The metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke
says faith in God is the motivation that drives Christians to pray
consistently for their needs.

The Archbishop made this known in a homily during his pastoral visit
to Queen of the Rosary college, QRC, Onitsha, to also mark the feast
of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Most Reverend Okeke, noted that faith in God shows the limitations of
human power and the omnipotent powers of the divine, pointing out that
God is all powerful and all loving to shower His faithful with favours
when they pray to Him.

While teaching the students ten good reasons why they should
appreciate and honour the Blessed Virgin Mary as their Patroness  Saint,
Most Reverend Okeke explained that the Virgin Mary is the Queen of the
Holy Rosary, who is full of grace, as the mother of Christ and the
spouse of the Holy Spirit among other virtues.

The Archbishop also administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to over
one hundred and twenty candidates, charging them to bear witness for
God, with the gift of the Holy Spirit they have received during the
confirmation.

In their separate remarks, the Chaplain of the College, Reverend
Father Francis Onwuchulum and the school Principal, Reverend Sister.
Maria Chijoke-Nwankwo thanked the Archbishop for his love and care to
the students and prayed God to strengthen him.

Thanksgiving and confirmation of the candidates formed the highpoints
of the pastoral visit.
