Overall work-wears, worth over three million naira have been donated
to the state government by Sterling Bank PLC as part of its Corporate
Social Responsibility.


The wears were meant for the State ASWAMA road sweepers.
Correspondent Ebele Ezeh reports that the Commissioner for
Environment, Mr. Obi Nwankwo received the items in his office at the
Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka.


Making the presentation, the Business Executive, Asaba South East of
the Sterling Bank, Mr. Charles Obukofe said the gesture was part of
their efforts to support Governor Willie Obiano’s commitment in 
keeping Anambra State Clean.


Mr. Obukofe, who made the presentation in  company of the Business
Manager, Awka Sterling Bank PLC,  Mr. Victor Aduloju and the
Relationship Manager, Mr. Ikenna Mbanefo, while describing it as the
beginning of new things to come and  promised to do more for the state.
Receiving the materials, Mr. Nwankwo thanked them for their support
towards keeping Anambra state clean.


He called on other bodies to toe the part of the Sterling Bank towards
assisting the state government to serve them better.


Shortly after the presentation, the Managing Director, Anambra State
Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, Mr. Amechi Akora, who expressed
joy over the development, said it will no doubt identify them while on
their duty posts.


Mr. Akora announced that this is not the first time Sterling Bank PLC
is kitting their sweepers and trash pickers and promised to take good
care of them.
