The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and tourism has continued with its inspection of hotels in the state, starting with those within Awka and environs, to ensure they are up to standard.


The team made up of members of the ministry and others from that of environment, fire, Standard Organisation of Nigeria, NAFDAC and security, arrived Wintess Garden Hotels Ifite-Awka.


Speaking during the inspection, the Acting Director Hotel and Hospitality of the Ministry, Mrs Stella Annah, said that apart from making sure that the hotels are of standard, the visit also helps them take inventory of hotels within the state, while creating relationship with the owners in a bid to make sure that Anambra becomes hospitality and tourist destination of choice.


She also emphasized that those in the hospitality Industry should maintain the accepted standard as the Ministry will continue to pay unscheduled visits to make sure that things that were pointed out are fixed for maximum operation.
