The Contingent from Anambra State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, took first position in creativity at the just concluded National Festival of Art and Culture held at Benin, Edo State.
The contingent also took second position in Wrestling and another trophy for attending the event making it three trophies won by the state contingent.
While presenting them to the Commissioner for Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo the Contigent ‘dressed in a traditional attire and costume, danced round the state secretariat showcasing the trophies.
Receiving them, the Commissioner, Mrs. Mbanefo adjudged the state culture and tradition as the best in the country saying that the Ministry is ever ready and prepared at all times to promote culture that reflect the state as the light of the nation.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Tony Ezenwaka, Mrs. Mbanefo said that Governor Willie Obiano is passionate about culture and has been keen in promoting it, stating that soon, they will attend cultural festival in China, advising their staff to keep the tempo.
The Director of Arts and culture in the ministry, Comrade Duke Ofili said they performed wonderfully well at the event because of the support given to them by Governor Obiano and the spirit of oneness among them calling for its sustenance.
