Anambra State Ministry of Health says it is ready to provide necessary support to ensure that an upcoming supplementary immunization activity in the state is successful.


Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, gave the assurance during a meeting with delegates from National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, World Health Organisation, WHO, and United Nations International Children Emergency Fund, UNICEF.


Dr Okpala said that the upcoming immunization exercise is important to Ndi Anambra, adding that the Ministry under his watch is open for partnership, anytime.


He emphasised government’s efforts at eradicating all forms of diseases in the state and commended the partners for always identifying with the state especially on health-related issues.


Leader of the team and Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu explained the supplemental immunization activities, saying that the activities will first start with the introduction of Measles Vaccines second dose, which will commence on November fourteen, while campaigns for Yellow Fever and Meningitis will also commence on December seven.


She commended WHO, UNICEF and National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for their supports.
