Members of the Boys Brigade in Anambra State recently joined their counterparts, across the globe to celebrate their Founder’s day.
The exercise which started with a Thanksgiving Service at Immanuel Anglican Church, Onitsha attracted some Officers, Friends and Members of various Units and locations of the Brigade .
The occasion attra members to All Saints Cathedral where a Guard of course tHonour was mounted by the Commander of the Boys Brigade and inspected by their President in Anambra State.
Speaking to the ABS in an interview, the President Anambra State Chapter of the Boys Brigade, Sir Ben Osaka said that the celebration was to honour the founding Father of Boys Brigade, Sir Williams Alexander Smith.
He advised Nigerian youths especially members of the Boys Brigade to shun cultism, immorality, Robbery, kidnapping, among other social vices and extolled Governor Willie Obiano for his giant strides in repositioning key sectors of the State economy.
Also Speaking, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters Mr Ugochukwu Okeke extolled the founder for his doggedness and called on members of the Boys Brigade to follow the footsteps.
He equally extolled Governor Obiano for his love for People Living with Disabilities in the State, by giving a good number of them jobs.
Contributing, the Commander of Nkpor Battalion of the Boys Brigade Mr Austin Okafor called on youths to maintain the legacies of the founding father which he noted will go a long way in re-positioning them.
