Umueri Community has been granted two weeks to seek alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, to end the crisis rocking the Community The Investigative Panel of Inquiry looking into the crisis granted the Community’s request during their public hearing in Awka.


The request to go home and seek alternative dispute resolution was sequel to an emotional laden advise offered to them by the traditional ruler of Nteje, Igwe Rowland Odegbo.


Igwe Odegbo had appealed to Ndi Umueri to go and find ways to resolve the crisis rocking the community, as that is the only way for the community to have a lasting peace.


Consequent upon the advice from Igwe Odegbo, High Chief Samuel Umeadi from Umueri moved a motion, appealing to the panel to grant the Community two weeks to go back home and find an amicable way to resolve the crisis and report back to the panel.


Granting their request, the Chairman of the Panel, Justice Chinyelu Anigbogu, holding a Holy Bible in his hand, told Ndi Umueri to always read Romans Chapter twelve, from verses eighteen and nineteen as he said that alternative dispute resolution is one of the best ways to finding an enduring peace, even as he prayed God to bless and cleanse the Community.


The President General of Umueri, Chief Pius Okonkwo said that he is highly elated about the turnout of events, and promised that the Community will strive to make peace amicably.


Also, the traditional ruler of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa appealed to Ndi Umueri to seek peace among themselves and to love and forgive one another.
