The state government says it will partner the Association of Anambra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, organizer of the Anambra state Trade Fair, to ensure a hitch free event.
Governor Willie Obiano stated this at the Government House Awka, when a delegation of the association and members of the 2019 Anambra state Trade Fair Planning Committee visited him to intimate him on activities and plans for the upcoming trade fair in the state scheduled to hold this Month.
While addressing the people, Governor Obiano represented by his Deputy, Dr.
Nkem Okeke while commending the efforts of the association in ensuring the success of the event in the state for years now, encouraged them to endeavour to make this year’s event more glorious.
The Governor assured the group that his government will keep supporting the event which he said, helps in projecting the production capabilities in Anambra, the culture of the people, and enables people to buy goods at cheaper rates.
Earlier, the leader of the team, Pharmacist Chris Ukachukwu, disclosed that last year’s event witnessed participation of over eighty companies, saying that plans have been completed on how to make the 2019 edition more successful.
Pharmacist Ukachukwu who is also the President of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, while commending the Obiano led administration for support accorded the event so far, harped on the need for the state government to create a platform that would accommodate all Small and Medium Enterprises in the state, saying that such will enable the manufacturers showcase their various goods to the world which will attract investors and improve the economy of the state.
In a remark, the President Awka Chamber of Commerce, Pastor Stephen Nduaguba, expressed satisfaction with the yearly improvement of the event which he said, will soon metamorphose into an international trade fair, and tasked media practitioners on creating awareness of the event in order to ensure full participation of Ndi Anambra and other Nigerians.
The Trade Fair which will hold on the twenty-fifth of November to fifth of December at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, has its theme as ” Partnering With Government And Organized Private Sector For Economic Advancement And Job Creation”.
