The Senator that represented Anambra Central in the Eighth Senate, Chief Victor Umeh, says he has accepted the judgement of the Court of Appeal, Enugu which denied his appeal against the verdict of the Election Petitions tribunal that sat in Awka.
Justice Ignatius Igwe Agube and two other justices of the Court of Appeal, Enugu had yesterday, upheld the judgement of the lower tribunal which declared Senator Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party as duly elected.
In his reaction to the judgement, Chief Umeh, who was APGA’s flag bearer in the said election, said being the court of final jurisdiction, on the matter, he has rested all the issues and controversies that trailed the polls.
Senator Umeh said he was deeply satisfied that for the Seventeen Months that he represented Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, he was able to accomplish a lot for them in all areas.
According to him, he demonstrated what an honest representation could do for the people, by attracting and ensuring that forty Constituency Projects were executed in the district for the year 2018, while also attracting twenty-eight Projects for the year 2019.
He thanked God, his supporters, lawyers, the electorate who still gave him eighty-one thousand, four hundred and twenty-nine Votes, despite all odds, for the struggle.
Senator Umeh also saluted the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Governor Willie Obiano for all the Support they rendered to him during the Election.
