A team from Anambra State Local Government Service Commission led by its Chairman, Dr Peter Egenti, recently visited Anaocha Council Headquarters Neni on a monitoring tour aimed at fishing out non existing workers in the local government system.


Addressing the Council Staff, Dr Egenti urged them to eschew all forms of indiscipline stressing that the Commission will no longer tolerate any negative attitude that will undermine the local government system.


He urged the leadership of the council to work in synergy with the established staff attendance monitoring committee of the commission to achieve success and overall productivity, adding that all hands must be on deck to carryout Governor Willie Obiano’s mandate of total eradication of non-existing workers in the unified local government system.


In a welcome address, the Chairman Transition Committee for Anaocha Local Government Area, Mr Patrick Onyedum extolled Governor Obiano for reappointing members of the Board of the Commission and urged the Council staff to co-operate with the commission to achieve its set objectives.


Contributing the Head of Local government Administration Mr Christian Ugwummadu praised the entire monitoring process of the commission stating that the process would definitely reduce the rate of absenteeism and also help to fish out non-existing workers.


Speaking in an interview, the Chairman of NULGE in Anaocha Local government Area, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe described the monitoring exercise as a welcome development.
