The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor has described the award on Governor Willie Obiano as the best security conscious Governor in the country by the Nigeria Police Force as meritorious.
In his congratulatory message to Governor Obiano, Honourable Okafor noted that the award is unprecedented being the first time a security institution is giving an award on security to a Governor in Nigeria.
The speaker charged politicians in the state irrespective of their party affiliations to join hands with Governor Obiano in promoting the security of lives and property of the citizenry especially now that he has won the best governor’s award in supporting security architecture in Nigeria.
He commended the Nigeria Police Force for appreciating the giant contributions and support of Governor Obiano to them and other security agencies in the country and called on them to step up their security services in the state.
Honourable Okafor charged security operatives in the state to extend their security watch to rural communities and make effective use of the security vehicles and other gadgets given to them by Governor Obiano.
