The President General of Urunnebo improvement Union Enugwu-Ukwu, Sir Greg Egenti has commended the Governor of Willie Obiano for the provision of borehole water supply to Obu Ozom Health centre Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu and for commitment to quality healthcare delivery at all levels in Anambra State.


Sir Greg made the commendation at the handover of a solar powered Water borehole and storage facility to the Urunnebo community, Enugwu-Ukwu by a team from the Anambra State Ministry of Public Utilities,.


He affirmed that the project is of good quality and very dear to the community ,stressing that Governor Obiano’s approach to community development is worthy of emulation.


He assured that they would maintain the water project the same way they do in collectively in Ozom community for the benefit of all and ensure its sustainability.


Sir Greg commended the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hon Emeka Ozumba for the role he played in attracting the water project to the community and ensuring that it was executed in record time.


Earlier, a Geologist and leader of the team from the Ministry of Public Utilities, Sir Chinweike Ajanobi said that they came to formally handover the water project to the community and asked them to confirm that the project was executed to standard and to their satisfaction, to which they confirmed . The high quality of work done was also confirmed by the Project Supervisor Engr. Emeka Achike before the signing of relevant papers by the President General and two witnesses from the Community, Sir Ignatius Okolocha and Engr. Charles Osineme respectively.


In a brief remark, Hon. Emeka Ozumba said that Governor Obiano’s approach to community development is all inclusive and commendable with the Community-Choose-Your-Project initiative and water for health which has benefitted Urunnebo Ozom and thanked the team from Ministry of Public Utilities for ensuring that the water project was done to specification.

He noted that Urunnebo community has good record of maintaining government projects and assured of the sustainability of the water project.


Other dignitaries present at the handover ceremony include the Special Assistant to the Governor on Image Management Hon Chika Ibeneme, and Special Assistant on Media, Hon Onyii Dike as well as other members of the Urunnebo community.
