It was a double ceremony as the 2019 Batch C stream one National Youth Service Corp members were formally inducted into the NYSC orientation program and the Anambra state NYSC permanent orientation camp was officially opened yesterday at Umuawulu /Mbaukwu Awka South Council Area. 
The ceremony attracted government officials, traditional rulers of communities, paramilitary organizations and members of National Youth Council of Nigeria. 


Queen Anigbogu  reports that while speaking during the event, Governor Willie Obiano represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Creative Economy, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, said as the first Corp members to use the permanent orientation camp, it is expected that the conducive environment will give them the needed impetus to carry out the components of the cardinal points of the NYSC scheme. Governor Obiano who said that the success of any service year, depends on the foundation laid during the orientation exercise, charged the corp members to break new grounds and surpass their predecessors.


In his remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Aremu,described Anambra as the most conducive  state to be a youth, as well as the state that pays the highest  state allowance in Nigeria. 


He revealed that one thousand, eight hundred and fifty one corpers were formally inducted into the orientation program and thanked the host communities for their hospitality.  UPSOT
Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, Igwe Peter Anugwu, explained that he designed and built the Anambra state permanent NYSC Orientation Camp and  thanked  Governor Obiano for giving him such opportunity.


The traditional ruler of  Umuawulu community, Igwe Dr Joel Egwuonwu, thanked God for bringing the permanent orientation camp to the two communities saying they are delighted to host the Corp members. 


In their separate remarks, the state chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra state chapter, Comrade Samuel Egwuatu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Innocent Egwuatu and the owner of a private security firm, Mr. Kelvin Okonkwo, expressed happiness with the peace existing in the host communities, advising the youths to remain law abiding to attract more development. 


Speaking with the ABS, some Corp members,  including Miss Opeyemi Bamikole and Mr. Sadiki Ayodeji, commended the state government for providing them with a conducive orientation camp. 


The administration of oath by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, and demonstrations from Man-O-War and takwaendo display  enlightened the ceremony.
