Anambra State government says its target on the light up Anambra project is to ensure that by the end of this year every part of the State will benefit from the project.


The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Power and Water Resources Mr Victor Meju who disclosed this in an interview with Abuchi Nwozor maintained that the Obiano administration is committed to improving the living standards of the people.


According to Mr Meju who is an Engineer, apart from improving the aesthetics of the State, the light up Anambra project will equally restore night life in different parts of the State in addition to sustaining the effective security network of the present administration.


He charged Ndi Anambra to be alive to their civic responsibilities especially as it concerns regular payment of tax and levies in order to assist the government to serve them better.


Mr Meju who regretted the indifferent attitude of the people towards government facilities urged the citizenry to take full ownership of government projects in their various areas against vandalization.


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on power and Water Resources who disclosed that the ongoing installation of fifteen Mega Watts transformer at the Agu Awka transmission station will soon be completed, maintained that on completion the facility will ensure adequate power supply to parts of Ifite-Awka, Okpuno, Commissioners Quarters, Ebenebe, Amansea and other parts of Awka Metropolis.


He urged people living in those areas to exercise patience as normal power supply will be restored as soon as the project is completed.
