Anambra State Government, through the Ministry Of Children And Women Affairs, has sealed Mercy Community Children’s Home Obosi.

The Commissioner for Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue who supervised the operation, said the home was operating illegally and detaining some mothers without reporting.Â
Commissioner Mezue, embarked on the operation in the company of the State Chairman, Registered Association Of Community Children’s Homes, Mrs Helen Ezeh, and other members of staff. Â

The Commissioner said the exercise is to ascertain the level of operations, if they are registered and licensed as well operating up-to standards.Â

Lady Mezue, said children are supposed to stay in a calm, conducive and safe environment.Â

She maintained that the present administration is poised to seeing to the welfare of her children and cautioned those operating illegally or whose homes are unkempt, to adjust as they will not tolerate such.
