The Honourable Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne and the Anambra State Director of Fire Service, Engr. Martin Agbili moments ago arrived Ochanja Main market to inspect the pace of work on the installation of fire hydrants for the market.
Recall, the government of Anambra State had on 17th and 18th October, 2019 respectively made promises of erecting fire hydrants in all the major markets in the state. That was in response to the unfortunate Ochanja fire incident of 16th October that killed some persons and razed plazas, shops and wares.
The Commissioner, Engr. Ezenwanne maintained during the inspection that standard must be strictly adhered to as that is the trademark of Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration.
He further charged the contractor handling the project to ensure he delivers on time pointing out that our people needed the hydrants now more than ever as the Christmas rush ‘season’ for traders is by the corner.
