Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has called on social media users to make good use of their gadgets by criticizing with facts.
Governor Obiano stated this at the mass celebration for the Feast of Christ the King.
Government House correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the mass held at Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha,
was attended by Secretary to the State government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Primus Odili, Commissioners, House of Assembly members, old boys, staff and students of CKC, among others.
The mass was celebrated by the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke to honor Christ, pray for the welfare of Christ the King College staff and students, Anambra State and others.
Governor Obiano who noted that the society is in modern era of new media technology called on students to shun indiscipline and imbibe the good culture being taught in the schools, at home and the Communities.
Governor Obiano who is of the 1974 set of the college, urged the students to allow the college pass through them by applying what they learnt, saying that only then will they have a chance at becoming good people in the society, as according to him, knowledge applied is power.
In a homily, the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke who spoke on the topic,” be a minister of the universal king, stressed that Jesus Christ wants to establish His kingdom in the hearts of believers, saying that just like Jesus poured His life as a sacrifice during His earthly ministry, Christian’s should render Godly service, love and exhibit joy always.
Speaking to the ABS, the Transition Committee Chairman for Onitsha North, Mr. Patrick Ayamba and the State Chairman of Red Cross, Professor Peter Kachi, noted that Jesus Christ is the center of the celebration.
Administration of sacrament of confirmation, prayer for the State, choir renditions, among others, featured during the mass.
