The fifty-fifth National and International Convention of the National Holy Ghost Church of Christ, Worldwide has ended with a call on the clergy to stop using the altar and prophesies to disposes people of their money.

The convention, which held at the new site of the church at Ndiowu, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, attracted worshipers and clergy from the over two hundred branches of the church across the world.

While delivering a sermon from the books of Ephesians chapter six and Ezekiel chapter twenty-one, the General Overseer, National Holy Ghost Church of Christ, Worldwide, Bishop Dr. Cynthia Josephson, reminded Christians of their responsibilities in God’s vineyard, even as she warned of the sad consequences of using the alter and prophesies to defraud people.

She reminded Christians that though sinless, Jesus Christ accepted death in order to redeem mankind, urging them to rededicate themselves to the work of spreading the gospel of salvation.

For the Bishop in charge of the Lagos Province of the National Holy Ghost Church of Christ, Worldwide, Dr. Uchenna Ifejilika, the convention was a huge success, even as he encouraged the pastors and members to be firm, since purity and trust have been the foundation of the church.

Some of the worshipers, including Deacon Peter Lvuabo, Mr Freeman Onyenweke and Mrs Alice Offiah, said God used the three days convention to meet people at the points of their needs, asking God to sustain his blessings on the church.

The event which featured prophesies and breaking of yokes, offered opportunity to raise funds for the church’s ten thousand sitting capacity building at the new site in Ndiowu, while drama presentation and other side attractions added colour to the occasion.
