Ogamba, one of the frontline Television programmes in the Anambra Broadcasting Service, has bagged an award for its immense contributions towards the growth of Igbo culture through entertainment.
The award was presented to the station through the Co-Anchor of Ogamba Television series, Miss Ifunaya Okonwo on behalf of the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Chief Uche Nworah at the South East Igbo Concert held in Awka.
The South East Igbo Concert, a cultural event that showcases and celebrates Igbo culture through entertainment also recognized distinguished personalities who in one way or the other have contributed to the promotion of cultural norms and values of Ndigbo.
Presenting the award to the ABS Chief Executive, the convener of the event, Mr. Paschal Nnabuike extolled the management and staff of the station for their tireless efforts in promoting the values and norms of Ndigbo.
Receiving the award on behalf of the station, Miss. Okonkwo who dedicated the award to all hard working staff of the ABS and Governor Willie Obiano for transforming the station to world standard said that through Ogamba, the station has always uncovered the peculiar identity of various Igbo communities as part of measures to celebrate Igbo cultural identity.
Meanwhile, yesterday the family of Anambra Broadcasting Service received the members of the Ogamba crew after making the station proud.
Receiving the crew, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS Chief Nworah assured that the Management and staff of the station will not relent in giving Ndi Anambra the taste of quality service delivery and promoting the core value of Ndigbo.
