Anambra state government has signed a Geographic Information System,
GIS, agreement with TEQBRIDGE Limited to enable it, among other things, eliminate cases of land theft, land scrapping, superimposition
and multiple land allocation.
The signing, which took place at the State Ministry of Lands, Awka,
was attended by the State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and
Creative Economy, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, the Permanent Secretary in the
Ministry of Lands, Dr. Emenike Ezinandu, and the Chairman of the
Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. David Nzekwu, among
others.
Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports while
speaking on the gains of the agreement, the State Commissioner for
Lands, Physical Planning and Rural Development, Mr Bonaventure
Enemali, said with the new agreement, land information in the state
will be automated, thereby enhancing access to land information.
He added that the agreement will serve Ndi-Anambra and potential
investors in a transparent manner, adding that Governor Obiano will
commission the project in a month’s time, when it’s online platform
will be launched.
Contributing, the Chairman of TEQBRIDGE, Mr Chiemeka Ngwu, said his
firm will provide all needed materials and human resources for the
success of the program, adding that the workforce for the project will
be drawn from the state, as a way of reinvesting in the state.
For the Chairman of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr.
Nzekwu, the signing of the agreement marks a beginning of development
of data that is needed for proper taxation in the state.
