Governor Willie Obiano has sworn in two high court Judges.
The Governor performed the swearing in ceremony during the State Executive Council Meeting, held at the Government house, Awka.


The two new judges are Mrs. Victoria Nwoye who was formerly at Customary Court Abuja and Mr. Onyinye Samuel Animonye drawn from private practice.


Governor Willie Obiano while congratulating the Judges on their new positions, urged them to be dedicated to their duties and live up to the high honour the society accords the profession.


Governor Obiano charged them to dispense justice without fear or favour and promised to continue to support the Judiciary arm of government to discharge its duties.


He thanked the State Chief Judge and the National Judicial Council for making the appointments possible promising that the State government would ensure that the judges receive their emoluments and other entitlements promptly.


Governor Obiano who noted that the executive and the judiciary have always enjoyed a symbiotic relationship, disclosed that government is working with the police to hasten the process of prosecution.


The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Uju Nworgu, stressed that Governor Obiano’s administration has always been supportive of the State judiciary, and gave assurances that it will continue.


One of the Judges, Justice Onyinye Samuel Animonye expressed gratitude to the government for finding them worthy for the position, adding that their appointment was a call to greater service.
