Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Dr Christian Madubuko, has assured officers of Vehicle Inspection Unit, VIO, of his readiness to tackle some of the challenges militating against their optimal performance.The Commissioner, who was speaking during a meeting with the officers of the unit in his office at Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka, said two tow vans would soon be provided for them.He announced that after due consultations, an administrative change had been effected in the leadership of the unit, saying that the changes were done in good faith.He enjoined them to shun gossips and embrace diligence, hard work and honesty in the discharge of their duties, stating that award awaited any of them that distinguished himself in the service.Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Obiano on Public Transport, Mr. Ralph Okoye, said he was not unmindful of the challenges confronting the unit as effort had been made to address them and thanked the Commissioner for considering it proper to hold the meeting and called on the officers to work as a family to deliver targets set for the unit.
