The Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Community Liason, Mr Chukwuemeka Nnebe, has given over fifty men and women cash gifts in Ufuma Community, Orumba South Local Government Area.
The event which was held in the Community attracted old men and women from seventy years and above.
Addressing the elderly people, Mr Nnebe said that what he has done was to use his salary to take care of the elderly in the community in his capacity, in order to bring good governance of Governor Obiano closer to them and assured them that he will sustain the exercise.
Mr Nnebe further said that he will try to extend the exercise to virtually all the communities in Anambra State to inform Ndi Anambra, mostly the aged, that the current administration in the state is passionate about their well being.
Two stakeholders in the area, Chief Godwin Anyogu and Honourable Raphael Nnabugwu, described the exercise as one of its kind in the area and prayed God to bless Mr. Nnebe.
The stakeholders equally thanked Governor Obiano for connecting the area to the national grid, a gesture they said, can never leave their memory and that of their future genetations.
The highpoint of the exercise, was the distribution of the cash to the beneficiaries, as well as the prayers offered by the beneficiaries to their benefactor.
