The school arena of Nwafor-Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, was filled to capacity as the college community gathered to celebrate the fourth edition of the school’s carnival.
The event, which featured display of various cultural activities, attracted the presence of the management team of the college, and the popular Atilogwu cultural dance of Umunze.
Speaking at the event, the Provost of the college, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo, said aside the rich cultural endowment in the
institution, the college is keeping pace with other institutions in achieving set academic goals.
She explained that coming years will witness more flourishing academic programs, adding that with the degree and NCE programs offered in the college, more people are being trained to add value in public and private organizations.
Contributing, the Acting Registrar of the college, Mr Godwin Okeke, said with the carnival, staff and students of the college are given opportunity to relax from strenuous academic work, urging them to brace for the coming academic activities.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman on the occasion and Director of Part-Time program of the college, Dr. Ndu Azubike, thanked successive Provosts of the college for their unwavering support to the carnival, expressing hope that the annual event will at a point begin to earn the school, state and the nation foreign exchange.
While advising students to identify with and promote their cultures, the Student’s Union Government President of the College, Mr Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, enjoined students to remain focused in their studies in order to excel in life.
