Members of staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service were in celebration mood yesterday when they received a bag of rice each, being the Christmas largesse from Governor Willie Obiano.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of the ABS, Chief Uche Nworah alongside the President, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Anambra state Chapter, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene distributed the rice and tin tomatoes to the staff at the corporate headquarters of the station in Awka.
Ngozi Obileri reports that the staff chanted solidarity songs to Governor Obiano and the management of the establishment for the love they show them every Christmas.
Addressing the staff, Chief Nworah appreciated the governor for putting smiles on the faces of the staff every Christmas, describing him as workers friendly Governor.
Chief Nworah urged the staff to reciprocate the gesture by being dedicated to their duties.
On his part, Chief Okeke-Ogene said that members of staff of ABS deserve the best because they have done a lot in promoting peaceful co-existence between the government and Ndi Anambra through their news and programmes.
While appreciating Governor Obiano for doing so much for the state, Chief Okeke-Ogene urged him not to relent, but to continue in his good deeds towards taking Anambra to a greater height.
Receiving the bags of rice, some of the staff including Ejike Abana, Amaka Okoye and Justina Anosike, who said they were overjoyed, prayed God to bless the governor abundantly.
