The 2019 Batch C Stream two orientation course for corps members deployed to Anambra state has been formally closed.
The closing ceremony took place yesterday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area.
Speaking during the event, the state NYSC coordinator, Mr Kehinde Aremu, disclosed that a total of one thousand and fifty seven corps members participated and successfully completed the three weeks orientation course.
He said during the orientation exercise, they were adequately prepared physically and mentally for the onerous challenge of national service.
Mr Aremu revealed that the NYSC scheme has tailored their posting policy in favour of education and health sectors and charged the Corpers to respect the culture of their host communities as Ndi Anambra are people of culture.
In his closing remarks, Governor Willie Obiano, noted that the training Corps members have received is aimed at enabling them to integrate effectively in their host communities and enable them contribute their quota to the development of the state.
Governor Obiano represented by the Secretary to the state government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, said he has directed that the NYSC camp be connected to the national grid before the commencement of the next orientation exercise, assuring them that he will not relent in providing them with the best orientation camp in Nigeria.
He charged the Corps members to consolidate on the in-camp training of the skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development programme to enable them take advantage of entrepreneurship opportunities in Anambra state.
In an interview with the ABS, one of the corps members Miss Cleopatra Iwanose, affirmed that her experience within the past three weeks have been eventful.
Contributing, another Corps member Mr Christian Dakpa, said he had a very wonderful experience during his stay.
However, ABS crew observed that a lot of work have been done in the camp since last time it visited and many more still coming up, as the Governor promised.
The exercise which attracted security agencies including the police, Civil Defence, Federal Road Safety Corps and NDLEA, featured passing out parade.
