The late Ocheze Nancy Ifeoma Ezenwa has been laid to rest at Oba Idemili South Local Government Area.
Late Ocheze Ezenwa aged eight-five lived a good life that the children are proud of.Correspondent, Njideka Okoye reports that the Ezenwa family of Oba, relations, friends and well wishers gathered at the compound of late Igwe Ezenwa to bid farewell to the deceased.Ocheze Ezenwa was buried at Ezeokpoko Mausoleum after burial service at St Peter’s Anglican Church Oba, officiated by the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo together with other Bishops and college of the clergy.
Different groups, including Oba Patriotic Women, in-laws and other relations took turns in paying their last respect to the deceased .
Speaking during the burial service, the first son of the deceased and the Regent of Oba, Chief Noel Ezenwa thanked all that came to commiserate with them urging people to always stand for the truth and fulfill promises made to people while the second son and a former Transition Committee chairman, Idemili South, Prince Henry Ezenwa said they loved their mother but could not question God and appreciated the Igwe’s cabinet for demonstrating the love they have for Ezeokpoko even at this time.
The first female Governor in Nigeria, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Senator Victor Umeh and member representing Idemili South constituency at the state Assembly, Barrister Chuka Ezenwune described Ocheze Ezenwa as a mother per excellent and urged the children to uphold the legacies of their parents.
The President General, Oba Patriotic Union, Retired Cornel Echezona Onyejegbu said that Oba Community benefited much from the family and prayed God for peace and unity in Oba. Others present at the burial ceremony include, Chief of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano Honnourable Primus Odili, a former House of Assembly member, Sir Chuba Oranusi and one of Ezeokpoko’s cabinet member, Chief Okwudili Anyaorah among numerous others.
