A special service was held yesterday at the Cathedral Church of Saint John Ekwulobia in Aguata local government Area to mark the Christmas.
It is a day set aside by Christians all over the World to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago.
In a sermon during the service, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor maintained that the birth of Jesus Christ has brought light to the world.
Bishop Ezeofor, disclosed that Jesus Christ came into the world to salvage Mankind and cautioned Christians against acts capable of contradicting their faith in God.
The Prelate who said that Emmanuel which is another name for Jesus is a clear manifestation of God’s plan to always be with his people called on Christians to use the period of Christmas in building Bridges of true love and total reconciliation.
He said that the issue of salvation is personal and cautioned Christians against working for God without knowing Jesus Christ.
Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion EFAC Nigeria advised Christians not to allow some daunting challenges to push them into negative lifestyles.
In a remark the Cathedral Administrator Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo who maintained that without Christ there will be no Christmas charged Christians not to engage in acts that will negate the true meaning of Christmas.
Some of the Worshipers including Sir Fidelis Ezeike, Mr Godwin Chukwuka and Mrs Chinwe Okafor said that celebrating Christmas will be incomplete without loving Jesus.
Highlight of the service which was attended by the President of the Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor was a special anthem by the Cathedral Choir.
