The 2019 Anambra Community Shield among the one hundred and eighty one Communities in the State has ended with Umunnachi lifting the trophy.
The Community Cup Finals between Umunachi and Achina Communities held at St Mary’s School field, Ifitedunu in Dunukofia Council area, saw Umunachi emerging tops with five goals to four win against Achina.

Clad in red and white Jersey, Umunnachi slugged it out with Achina who had orange Jersey and the first half ended without scores from both sides, after many goal attempts.

Again during the the second half, non of the two teams conceded any goal and the game entered into penalties.
At the end of the penalties , Umunnachi scored five goals against Achina Community.
Performing the kick off earlier, Governor Willie Obiano who was represented by his Principal Secretary, Sir Willie Nwokoye said that Anambra state government through the State Sports Commission has revived sports in schools, markets and communities across the State.
Governor Obiano said that Anambra has begun to make impact in sports,including nationally, recalling that last year, when the academicals completion was held, alot of stars were discovered, calling for its sustenance

Chairman of the State Sports Development Commission, Chief Tony Oli commended the Communities that participated in the tournament, assuring that the year 2020 would withness alot of sports competitions , adding that
a lot of players have been picked to represent the State at the National Sports Commision, next year.

Speaking to the Press shortly after the tournament, Chairman of Dunukofia Council area, Engineer Emeka Okonkwo who incidentally hails from Umunachi, said that such gesture of scouting for young talents by the State government is commendable and appreciated the Umunnachi team.
Also speaking, the President General of Achina, Chief Chito Ezeani cimmended the State for organizing such tournament, expressing joy that some players in the Community were selected to represent the State and thanked the players for making the State proud while encouraging young people in the State to take advantage of such opportunity offered by the State government.
Nanka Community who were at the third place were presented with a cheque of one hundred thousand naira, Achina got two hundred and fifty thousand naira, while Umunachi community got five hundred thousand naira.
Climax of the event was when the cup was handed over and lifted by Umunnachi Community.
