The Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim made the call during the Thanksgiving service for the sixth birthday and Retirement from public service of Lady Chizoba Nwana at Saint Andrew’s Parish Enugwu Ukwu where he also dedicated a skill Acquisition Centre for Uruekwo women and youth built by Lady Chizoba, the celebrant.

Affluent members of the society have been called to use their wealth to stimulate development that will empower youths and women.

Most Reverend Ibezim noted that investing in youths and women will reduce high rate of unemployment in the country and also make the society habitable for all.


He urged those who successful retired from public service to always think home and how to affect their people positively and commended lady Chizoba for her philanthropic gestures over the years.


The Archbishop while dedicating the Lady Chizoba Nwana Excellence Centre for Uruekwo women and youth which has different sections and well equipped with computers and other empowerment facility, charged those who will use it to utilize all the available skills there in order to improve themselves.


In an interview, the Anglican Bishop of Gwagwalada diocese, Right Reverend Moses Bukpe Tabwaye described lady Chizoba as a model mother who has been a source of inspiration to others and has been investing in God’s kingdom.


Responding, Lady Chizoba who was obviously overwhelmed with joy, returned all the glory to God for giving her health and enablement to get to that height and thanked her family for their support.


The husband of the celebrant, Dr. Afam Nwana described his wife as loving and caring and thanked God for having a wife whose vision of impacting life aligned with his and prayed God to continue to keep them as one.


The twin children of the celebrant, Nata and Kosisochi Nwana promised that they will make their parents proud in all their dealings, while the elder brother of the celebrant, Mazi Jideofor Ojii described Lady Chizoba as the pillar and rallying point of their families and thank God for blessing them with her person.


Hospitality was shown to the guests at a reception at the celebrant’s home where some outstanding women were given an award for being role models to the younger generation by the celebrant who also extended the award to her husband, Dr Nwana for supporting her visions.


Cutting of cake and dances added colour to the celebration which drew personalities from across the world including the Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Nkem Okeke whose mother was also given an award as well as the MD/CEO of ABS, Chief Uche Nwora.


The Thanksgiving service featured songs by the choir on the biography of lady Nwana and Thanksgiving by the family.
