Ndigbo have been advised to explore new opportunities to accelerate growth and development.

A guest speaker, Dr Obiora Okonkwo gave the advise at the fifth annual Umunri colloquium organized by the Igu Aro Commission, Enugwu-Ukwu, Umunri Colloquium Commission and Enugwu-Ukwu Forum.
The academic conference which was held at the Enugwu-Ukwu Civic Center attracted major stakeholders in the Igbo cause, including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Traditional Rulers, the Nze na Ozo title holders, the clergy, as well as students.

While speaking on the topic , “Ndigbo In Contemporary Nigeria : A Social, Cultural, Political and Economic reflection“, Dr Okonkwo identified leadership as the major challenge facing Ndigbo calling on the people to choose leaders based on integrity.
He stressed that good leaders are those that would not see leadership positions as an avenue to satisfy personal desire but those that will hit the society with new visions and bigger ideas.

Dr Okonkwo argued that for
political landscape to be repositioned, Ndigbo must ensure that Igbo businesses continues to grow by supporting every Igbo business not only by individuals but also through a huge support from the government Earlier while breaking the cola nut, the traditional ruler if Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh, noted that Ndigbo truly needs a leader with no contradictions and prayed for the unity, peace and progress of Igbo land.
. The chairman on the occasion in his opening remark, advised that parents should groom their children using Igbo language, culture and traditions.

He regretted that Igbo language which is one of the commonest unifying ethnic identity is being challenged, calling for a collective action to change the mindset and attitude of Ndigbo towards strengthening the Igbo extraction for the greater task ahead.
Another speaker at the event, Chief Jude Ekwunife, who is the Traditional Culture Minister of Enugwu-Ukwu regretted the pace at which Igbo cultural values is fading away.

He noted that the prestigious OZo title which is one of Igbo cultural heritage that is still surviving be carried with respect and as such must be conferred to those that deserves it.
Others who spoke at the event including, Reverend Monsignor PatrickMary Mmuo and Dr. Osita Ibenegbu advocated strong alliance between Ndigbo and their sister state in the south and west if Igbo must achieve their dream politically, while Doctor Richard Okoye promised to help Anambra and Nigeria achieve Zero adulterated drugs as he plans to launch an application that can dictate fake drugs targeted at increasing the life expectancy of Ndi Anambra and Nigeria at large.

In a vote of thanks, the Chairman, 2019 Umunri ColloquiumOrganizing Committee, Chief Uche Nworah who is also Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service appreciated those that contributed to the success of the event.
He stated that there is no nobler cause than serving his people assuring of greater commitment.
